As you may know, St. Jeanne Jugan, the first Little Sister of the Poor, had a great devotion to St. Joseph. She chose him as the provider and protector of the congregation. We share her love for him today and honor him throughout the year, but especially during March, the month dedicated to him.
Looking back on the month, his feast day stands out as a joyful day of celebration and thanks for his constant intercession on our behalf. The day was made even more special by Bishop Johnston and several area priests, who graciously accepted our invitation to spend the day with us.
It started with a lovely Mass that was celebrated by Bishop Johnston. After Mass, the priests joined the Bishop in serving our Residents a special lunch. This is a tradition that goes back many years in our homes and the Residents thoroughly enjoyed interacting with them. Afterwards, the Bishop and priests enjoyed a meal together, along with a chance to socialize. It was a wonderful day, and something we look forward to doing again next year.
